My Story

My name is Maria Ruquet-Murray and was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I am married and have a beautiful son who is growing up way to fast for his Mother!
Let me share a little bit about me and what led to my Scentsy Journey. My story is a bit long but worth the read....
Prior to Scentsy, I was very Independent. I worked while I went to college and earned my MBA in Business. I always had my own means of money and paid my own way. Nothing was ever handed to me in life and I worked for everything I had.
After 16.5 years of working for a company on Long Island, NY, and only 4 months after I earned my MBA, I was layed off in 2005 from a job that I had worked at for most of my life. The transition was not easy for me but I managed because I had to.
Later that year, I moved to PA. While there, I worked in a few local school districts where I was a Substitute "Guest" Teacher and I absolutely loved it. I felt like I was doing something to help make a difference and that made me feel wonderful.
A few years later, everything changed. My beautiful son was born. He was born prematurely and it was one of the scariest times in my life. He spent his first two months of life in the NICU. It was a very trying time for my family with all the ups and downs but we got through it. He is my Miracle Child and my World!
MY JOURNEY:
After my son was born, I became a Stay-At-Home Mom. This was a huge change for me. I went from being a very Independent person to becoming Dependent and that was very difficult for me. Over time, I also felt lonely and kind of "lost myself" in the process. I did not get out of the house much and going to the store was a treat for me...
Needless to say, I learned about Scentsy and I became an Independent Scentsy Consultant on November 20, 2012 shortly after attending a Scentsy party for the first time!
My reason for joining Scentsy is two fold: First and foremost is that I wanted to get some Independence back in my life and to get out of the house. I needed some "ME" time. I also wanted to help contribute to my household financially but needed the flexibility to work around family schedules and obligations. Secondly, I absoluely loved the products! I am a big fan of melting scented waxes in my home and I love having a nice aroma in the air as it fills my home with alot of warmth. I love all kinds of scents but I escpecially like scents such as Cinnimon and all Scents of the "Kitchen" as well as Clean smelling scents.
I also love the fact that Scensty products are SAFE as we use low watt light bulbs or warming plates to warm our wax so there is No Flame, No Fire, No Smoke, & No Soot. We only Warm the wax with our Warmers, we DO NOT Burn it, so if you or a child should spill melted wax on your skin, you will NOT get burned.
Scentsy is also Economical and there is something for everyone. We are Not just about Wax and Warmers! We also have Laundry Care, Scent Circles for your car, Hand & Body Lotions, Shower Creams & Gels, Body Butter, Body Sprays, Room Sprays, Scentsy Buddies that hold your favorite ScentPaks that make them smell really good and they are SAFE for Children, and much more!
Scentsy is all about Family and Giving Back, to Give More than You Take! Every NEW Catalog Season, Scentsy comes out with a new Charitable Cause Warmer or Scentsy Buddy where a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Chairity being sponsored. I am a people person and love to help Give Back whenever I can. Knowing that I share the same values as Scentsy made it an easy decision to join as well!
Becoming a Scentsy Family Consultant has given me the flexibility that I need. I have fun Hosting parties, participating in Vendor Events and Fundraisers. I get to meet Wonderful people and get paid to party and have fun. One of the best parts of my Journey is that I have also made so many Wonderful & Life long friends in the process and am really happy that I took a leap of faith and joined this Wonderful Scentsy Family!. We all truley care about one another, cheer each other on and help each other whenever needed.
My goal is to Inspire, Build friendships and a Team of my own. I am a people person and love to watch others grow & succeed. I would love to share this opportunity with you and I will be there for you every step of the way to help you and cheer you on.
When you do something that you love and are passionate about, it doesn't feel like a job!
